ABOUT THE B+C HALL OF FAME
Since 1991, the B+C Hall of Fame has recognized the innovators who have profoundly shaped the media landscape.
Established for Broadcasting magazine's 60th anniversary, each year the gala in New York City celebrates a new class of network leaders, station managers, agency partners, and media stars who have left a lasting impact on the field.
To date the Hall of Fame has honored nearly 500 executives, personalities and programs, including Ted Turner, founder of Cable News Network; Lucille Ball, comedian, actress and producer; Dr. Phil McGraw, host of Dr. Phil; and Johnny Carson, host of NBC's The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson.
In 2002 Oprah Winfrey was inducted into the Hall of Fame for her pioneering work in broadcasting. She returned in 2018 to honor her long time friend Gayle King, co-anchor of CBS Mornings, who was inducted for her career achievements in television journalism.
In December 2012, Judy Sheindlin earned her spot in the Broadcasting & Cable hall of fame for her contributions to the syndication industry and for her work on the iconic court show Judge Judy.
At the 25th annual ceremony, Bob Iger—chairman and CEO of The Walt Disney Co.—received his star for his embrace of technology and influence on modern broadcasting.
In 2025 longtime chairman Bill McGorry stepped down, passing the baton to industry veteran Charlie Weiss.
