Steve Miron is the Chief Executive Officer of Advance/Newhouse Partnership, a privately held media company headquartered in Syracuse, New York. Previously, Steve served as chief executive officer of Bright House Networks, the sixth-largest cable owner and operator in the U.S., which served approximately 2.5 million customers. Steve joined Bright House Networks as president in March 2002 and was named CEO in May 2008. During his tenure, Steve’s philosophy of putting the customer first was embraced by the company’s 8,500 employees and reflected throughout the company’s culture, earning it top accolades, including 12 J.D. Power & Associates Awards.
Steve began his career in 1989 and gained experience working in a variety of operations and management roles at MetroVision, Vision Cable, NewChannels and Time Warner Cable prior to joining Bright House. Steve is a graduate of American University. Steve serves on the Boards of Directors of Charter Communications, Discovery, Inc. and C-SPAN. He has served on the Boards of Directors of NCTA, CableLabs, CTAM and the Emma Bowen Foundation. In addition to his service in the industry, Steve is passionate about his local community and has served as Board Chair of the Crouse Health Foundation and as a trustee for the Jewish Community Foundation of Central New York.
Steve was awarded NCTA’s Vanguard Award for Young Leadership in 2005 and the Distinguished Vanguard Award for Leadership in 2016. He was inducted into the Cable Hall of Fame in 2019. Steve and his wife, Jackie, have two sons, James and Daniel.
