Dan Mason served as President and CEO of CBS Radio, one of America's most venerable broadcasting companies. His tenure spanned nearly two decades until his retirement in 2015.

Mason initiated an aggressive growth strategy at CBS including the launch of the CBS sports radio network, a 24 hour 7 day a week lineup of national programming entities of CBS radio and CBS sports. under mason, CBS radio took a number of steps to establish its digital presence and streaming platforms and mobile applications. perhaps one of Dan's biggest accomplishments was re-instituting the beloved classic hits music format that New Yorkers grew to know and love at WCBS-FM. today, WCBS-FM remains a ratings leader in New York.

Upon his retirement at CBS Radio, Dan mason returned to where his broadcast career began. Mason resumed a Sportscasting career as a television commentator specializing in women's college basketball at the CBS sports network. He is also a thoroughbred racing analyst at the horse racing radio network, having been a thoroughbred owner for many decades.
In 2016, Dan was elected chairman of the Broadcaster's Foundation of America, the leading non-profit organization helping those in acute need within the radio and television industry. He functioned in that leadership position until 2020.
Over his career span, Dan has been honored with several awards including induction into the national radio hall of fame in Chicago and the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) outstanding leadership award where he served on the board of directors for several years.

A native of Louisville, Kentucky, Dan graduated from Eastern Kentucky University.  He also was presented with an honorary doctorate of humanities from that institution.

Dan is honored to be part of the 2020 Broadcasting and Cable Hall of Fame and looks forward to this special evening.
